Most of the cars we send to the frontline are donated by fellas from the UK or EU. Even though a donated car significantly saves costs per car to be ready for the frontline, some costs still have to be covered.
They include: repairing and installing armor (largest part), adding machine gun turret, painting and delivering to the frontline. This all requires extra 1,500 - 2,500 USD per car. With this fundraiser we'll cover the cost for 8 cars every month donated by fellas from EU and UK. Also if you have a car to donate, please click Donate Car at the home page or use this link car4ukraine.com/donate-car
Every month NATO countries meet at Ramstein Air Base to discuss Ukraine's needs and allies' support. At Car for Ukraine we get dozens of cars donated by regular people from the UK and Europe creating our own so-called People's Ramstein.
Nearly every week foreign volunteers donate their own vehicles or even bring them to Ukraine in person. Eventhought a donated car significantly saves costs per car to be ready to the frontline, there are still some costs that have to be covered. They include: repairing and installing armor, adding machine gun turret, painting and delivering to the frontline. This all requires extra 1,500 - 2,500 USD per car. With this fundraiser we'll handle next 50 donated cars.
Andrii from OPFOR special fire support unit. We first met this warrior during our January 1 trip to Bakhmut this year. We were honored to spend a few hours with the soldiers to support them and hear more about their current challenges. During the conversation we've found that the unit has a certain number of heavy machine machine guns but they were lacking 9 pickup trucks to effectively leverage them. Thanks to generous donations of our supporters and direct donations of 4 pickup trucks we've assisted Andrii's unit with 9 pickup trucks. He is now ready to serve Ukraine nations and keep on defending Bakhmut and the entire Ukraine.
The fight in Bakhmut is going on and we are happy to successfully collect money enought for 10 trucks in the area.
Besides nearly 63,000 USD we've managed to collect within the last 2 months we also got 3 trucks donated for this effort and therefore we've managed to achieve the goal. For the context: Bakhmut is the palce where our troops were outgunned 10 times by russians (the number is getting lower though). Therefore we must assist them with means to act smart. To outgun russia with quality instead of quantity. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are much more effective than their counterparts as they can make decisions on the battlefield instead of waiting for the generals to say what to do. Our #Punishers are perfect instruments to be mobile and move smaller groups, carry heavy machine guns, NLAWs, or Javelins, and evacuate injured ones.
Our trucks have already supported the Ukrainian army in counter-offensives in Kharkiv and Kherson regions. We’ve delivered vehicles to some of the most efficient units. 4 trucks for antitank battalions destroyed tanks, a helicopter, and others. 5 vehicles for AZOV; also finalizing 4 trucks - for Georgian Legion. But now it’s time to support Ukrainian movements on Kherson even more.
Kherson region is a beautiful place. It has 2 seas, largest dessert in Europe, Ukrainian Grand Canyon, Askania Nova National Part with exclusive animals like Przhevalsky hourse and Zebras living there and a lot more. We want this to get back to normal. Andreas from Germany has already donated for 4 trucks previously and has helped with this fundraiser significanly. Let's try to collect enough funds for 4 more trucks for the region
We’ve already delivered numerous vehicles to some of the most efficient units. We’ve delivered 4 trucks for antitank battalions that successfully destroyed over 20 targets, including tanks, a helicopter, and others. We’ve also covered 5 vehicles for AZOV, and now it’s time for the Georgian Foreign Legion.
Today the legion is serving in the East of Ukraine and needs the vehicles for reconnaissance work. The vehicles will be used to break through the enemy’s positions that are lightly protected. Therefore, machine guns will be on top of these vehicles supporting their offensive movements.
Roman Hapachylo has met with the commander of the legion, Mamuka Mamulashvili. We’ve asked Mamuka why the Georgians would fight for Ukraine. His answer was simple: Ukrainians helped Georgians in 1992 when russia supported Georgia’s occupation. Now they can’t let this happen to Ukraine when russia is directly offending.
